The National Executive Board is pleased to announce the 2019 National Scholarship Program for talented youth in visual, literary and performing arts. The scholarship program is designed to provide opportunities and support for deserving high school seniors who will enroll in a four-year college, university or accredited institution with a focus on the arts.
Scholarship awards will be based on artistic and academic merit, and will be granted in the three (3) areas of visual, performing, and literary arts. While a demonstration of basic talent is important, other issues such as extra-curricular activities, desired level of involvement in school and community programs, attitude and preparation will be considered.
All completed Scholarship applications are due on March 15, 2019 and must be sent to Lady Barbara Edwards at: 406 North Fulton Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York 10552.
The Scholarship Program will be administered by the National Scholarship Committee that is facilitated by Lady Barbara Edwards, Chair and Lady Dorothye Bush, Co-Chair. The Committee is comprised of members representing several of our chapters. The Scholarship application includes criteria for each scholarship and a timeline for submission of all documents. Scholarships will be awarded at our National Conference and Gala.
We are excited with anticipation and gratitude that we will be able to continue with this worthwhile program that is designed to make a difference in the lives of our scholarship awardees.
